Export checklist
Everything in place before the transport rolls. Tick off the list and avoid customs stops and needless delays. Save or print.
Before every transport
- Sender and recipient – full address and contact
- Goods description – what it is, number of items and pallets
- Dimensions and weight – per item and total
- Delivery terms (Incoterm) – who's responsible for what
- Preferred pickup and delivery
Documents
- Commercial invoice with value and goods description
- Packing list
- Transport document (CMR consignment note)
- Any product certificates or safety data sheets
For trade outside the EU (customs)
- EORI number registered
- Commodity code (HS/Taric) determined
- Customs value calculated
- Certificate of origin – can lower the duty
- Any licences or export permits
Special cargo
- Temperature requirements specified (chilled/frozen)
- Dangerous goods classified and ADR documents ready
- Oversized – need for permits or special equipment
